A Poem about Woodberry Kitchen and Why I am not a Writing Sems Major

So this time I wanted to try my hand at being a writing seminars major for about 30 minutes. I thought it would be a good way to shake up the blog and try out my capacity as one.

As most of you know, I am having a love affair with food (Don’t tell my new year’s resolution). So when my mom came to visit, we couldn’t help ourselves, we had to go to one of the best places in town, Woodberry Kitchen. So I took this decadent experience as inspiration for a passionate poem to express my affection towards my forbidden love. Needless to say, it did not go well, and being a writing sems major is definitely a lot of work, and takes a lot of talent. I really admire the way that they can express so clearly their own passions and loves, while I usually just eat mine.

So now, without further ado, here is my poem, in all its glory.
Please enjoy.

Food
I love food
I love oysters
Oysters with snake oil hot sauce and lemon juice
Concoctions
They taste like you imagine the ocean to taste like
Clear, Salty
Smooth

Food
I love food
I love entrees
Slow cooked beef shin
With wild mushrooms and grits
Reminds me of slow cooked meals
At home, with the $4 crock pot
But instead it’s 30 degrees
Outside

Food
I love food
I love dessert
Crust made out of pecans
With lemon custard and blackberry
Compote
White Coffee ice cream
Sitting astutely, and then slouched
Melting into café con
Leche
