After all of your research and preparation, it’s finally here: Application time.
The Common Application and Universal College Application are now available! We want to share some advice on one of the most important pieces of the college application: Your essays. (Visit our website for a sneak peek at our supplemental essay question!)
Our “Essays That Worked” page contains impressive application essays from members of the incoming Class of 2019. You can read the essays, along with notes from the admissions committee on why these particular essays caught their attention, at apply.jhu.edu/apply/essays. While your essays should be unique and authentically you, “Essays that Worked” may help you better understand what our committee looks for in an effective college essay.
College applications don’t have to be scary. Including “Essays That Worked,” we have plenty of helpful resources for you to reference as you start your Hopkins application:

In the meantime, don’t forget about our upcoming on-campus events!
