“All I want is a DeLorean…”

Sometimes I miss high school.

I know; most of you are in high school and are probably wondering “Why does he miss high school?” I guess times were just simpler then. It’s hard to explain. I didn’t have to worry about as much stuff as in college. I wasn’t as stressed out. I was busy, but I guess I didn’t care about stuff as much as I do now. I spread myself thin in high school (12 clubs anyone?), but it’s nothing compared to college. I just helped run clubs, but you become so much more involved in college, it’s just different. I wouldn’t have it any other way though.

What sparked this realization of my love for high school? My best friend from back home, Christina, moved her domain over to her new server, bringing her website online again. This website contains images from high school, all the way back to 2005. It was before everyone had facebook, so thats why all the images were uploaded there. Plus, no unwanted tags! Score! However, my friends and I spent a great deal of time sending embarrassing pictures of ourselves and others to each other, and you’ll see them scattered throughout this post.

But I spent some time yesterday going through the albums, and I remembered a lot of fun I had. We had fun just for the sake of having fun. I miss not worrying about my “image” and just having a blast. I guess college does that to you. It forces you to “grow up” a bit. You can still have fun, but you have to be professional. I mean, why can’t you just let loose, what’s the harm? Sometimes society just needs to take a chill pill.
Anyway, I guess this is a sort of plea for all those in high school; enjoy it. Right now, you might be sick of it, but in the future, you’ll be looking back, wishing you were there again. I know for sure I am. I can’t believe how fast everything is going by. I just want it to slow down. Sometimes you just don’t want to grow up. I mean, look at Peter Pan!
