My Hopkins Experience:
1. When did you know Hopkins was right for you? When I visited Hopkins; it was a sunny day, and I just loved the atmosphere. Plus, Baltimore really appealed to me for some reason.
2. What is one thing that would surprise your friends/family about Hopkins? The diverse groups of friends I have here. I grew up from a pretty white suburb of Boston, so they’d probably be surprised by how diverse it is here.
3. If you were the University President, what is the first thing you would do or change? I would probably add a student union of some sort, or improve the arts. Both help enrich the social climate of the school.
4. If you could go back and choose your college again, would you pick Hopkins? Why? Yes. I would. I really do love it here, and the education is excellent.
5. What was your perception about Hopkins before enrolling and how has it changed since then? I honestly thought it was a ton of doctors in the ghetto, but it’s not actually that at all.
6. What is/was your favorite class? Introduction to Animation. It was so much work, but the final product was so worth it.
7. Describe your funniest memory or experience at Hopkins: I can’t think of one particular memory, as I have a lot of fun here. But one thing I have done, which is a ton of fun, is drag. As Lady Gaga says, “Don’t be a drag, just be a queen!” (p.s. I actually hate that song)
8. How would your college experience be different if you hadn’t chosen Hopkins? Well, pretty much, I wouldn’t have the same group of friends. And my friends don’t just span Hopkins, they span Baltimore. And I love them a lot, and probably why I love Hopkins.
9. What has your greatest contribution been during your time at Hopkins, or what do you hope to accomplish before graduation? I really want to work on a major art piece, and show that art is alive a Hopkins. A lot of people don’t know we have art courses here, and it’s a shame.
10. What advice would you give to a high school senior choosing their college? Go visit. You have no idea what a school is like until you see it in person.
