Last week, the “Exec Boards” of the many Admissions groups got together and competed in a photo-scavenger hunt around campus. If you follow @JHU_JackieR on Twitter, you may have seen a massive influx of random tweets with #JHUdarechallenge (may or may not have been my first time tweeting in a year…) We had an hour to run all around campus and find these obscure places around Homewood – good thing we’re all tour guides and collectively knew all the fun facts, or else it could have ended very badly. While my team might have ended in dead last place, we still had an absolute blast!
The beginning of our hunt! Hopkins seal not too hard to find around campus..
This professor asked US for an arm wrestling match!
Domo arigoto Mr. Roboto
JHU_Aneek makes his Hopkins Interactive debut! Thanks Aneek!
Did you know that we have our own Archaeological Museum right in Gilman Hall, complete with a mummy?
JHU_Ian tried to give us an actual physics lecture as we were taking the picture. Ian, it’s a scavenger hunt, not a PILOT session!
You can write on the walls in Brody! Usually it’s calc or orgo though, not artistic masterpieces like we created.
The President’s Garden, home of the Spring Fair Beer Garden, is a beautiful spot to read, picnic, and cartwheel.
The Undergraduate Teaching Laboratories make Biophysics Lab especially fun on nice days when the sunlight streams through the glass wall-windows. Or, especially fun when some random kids in green shirts decide to do the YMCA dance outside of them.
The Rec Center caters to athletes of all abilities.
Time for JHU_Joshua’s Hopkins Interactive debut! Thanks for the help swing-dancing!
SAFE! Had to check out that brand new turf baseball field.
This photo tour wouldn’t be complete without one of the many on-campus cafes.
Security on campus always goes above and beyond.
Thanks for putting up with my odd requests when I spot you sitting in the quad, Kaitlyn! Sorry I stole your snack for the picture and then didn’t even get it in the frame..
Team work at its finest.
At last, we spotted Woodrow Wilson on campus! Digging his hip shades.
Hope you enjoyed the peek into the more hidden areas on campus! If you come for your own tour, make sure you take some time to explore on your own. And, most importantly, don’t forget to take some selfies.
