Your reaction when you found out you were admitted to Hopkins?

I was in my room with my dad and we opened the email and went onto the portal together and the first thing I did when I saw that I got accepted was burst into tears and scream. My dad and I hugged and I called my mom and cried more into the phone. It was one of the happiest moments of my life.

Five things every student in the Class of 2020 must bring with them?

Umbrella, Rain boots, Water filter, Speaker, Planner

What do you wish you knew before arriving on campus?

I wish I knew to buy used books on Amazon instead of buying them all full price from the book store.

Favorite campus tradition?

Lighting of the quads!

One thing no Hopkins student should ever leave freshman year without doing in Baltimore?

Try out all the good eats spots! For example, carma’s grilled cheese, the charmery, etc.

Number one piece of advice for incoming freshmen?

Focus on the things that make you truly happy and pursue those, not just the things that you think you are supposed to do as a college student. Always remember your long-term goals.

What do you do in your free time?

I am usually hanging out with my friends, exploring baltimore, and reading and writing.

Why did you come to Hopkins?

I really wanted to go to a school where I could pursue my wide range of interests and double major in subjects that are traditionally not paired together, Writing Seminars and Computer Science, and I found that with Hopkins’ flexible curriculum, I could do everything that I wanted to.

Your favorite memory since you’ve been at Hopkins?

Taking walks with my roommate across campus just to enjoy the scenery

Favorite academic experience thus far at Hopkins?

Writing a 7 page paper on time travel for my philosophy class

Coolest under-the-radar spot on campus?

The telescope in Bloomberg

What were you most excited about when you were an incoming freshman?

Having a roommate and getting to have a “semester-long sleepover” as I liked to call it
